Learn to Skate

Dreamsports Center’s Learn to Skate Program is the best in the area for kids aged 3-9! Many students have never been on skates before and are up skating before the end of the first class. We offer several sessions through out the year on different days/times for every busy family schedule! We use in-line skates in all of our classes.

Our Learn to Skate classes are offered in three different levels (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). Participants must have a bicycle or hockey helmet. In Line skate rentals are included in the fee, if needed. Optional protective equipment that can be used: wrist guards, knee pads and elbow pads.

Class Descriptions:

Beginner – Beginner skaters have never been on skates before. They are working on standing up, balancing, and beginning to skate.

Intermediate – Intermediate skaters can stand up on their own and skate about 25 yards without falling. They are working on pick up speed, stopping, turning, etc.

Advanced – Advanced skaters can stand, pick up a decent amount of speed, stop on their own, and skate in a square (or turn) comfortably. They are working on advance skating as it pertains to hockey, such as the following skills: hockey stop, cross-over, speed skating, etc.
