Carolina Scholastic Hockey

After founding and running Carolina Scholastic Hockey League (CSHL) for the past 5
years, Chuck and Cathy Carter and Mark Howard are handing the reins for this
outstanding hockey program to the management team at Dreamsports.

Dreamsports Center of Apex is an indoor sports facility that offers leagues in hockey,
soccer, and lacrosse, as well as, child development programs in several sports, and
multi‐sport track‐out and summer camps.

CSHL runs both High School and Middle School in‐line Hockey Leagues for schools
throughout the region. Schools have participated from as far as Carrboro in the
west, Pinecrest in the south, Wakefield in the north and Enloe in the east. Students
enjoy representing their school in a sport they love when the schools do not offer a
school‐sanctioned program in this sport. Some schools have Hockey Clubs, which
support this program. For others, it is an ad‐hoc program. CSHL has been a not‐forprofit
organization with a goal to provide a hockey program for local students to be
able to play their favorite sport with their schoolmates.

Games are played at Dreamsports during the week. Both leagues end the season with a high caliber championship tournament.

“Dreamsports is committed to picking up things right where the Carters left it last
year. Along with Mark Howard, Cathy and Chuck have poured their heart and soul
into this program and the results have been outstanding” said Steve Werner, GM and
Co‐owner of Dreamsports.

“Both Chuck and I have received personal reward seeing the participating students
mature and grow through their participation in the program, While we are no
longer able to commit the time and resources required to keep this program
growing, we are very confident in the personnel at Dreamsports and expect the
students and their families will not see any difference, except for possible
improvements” said Cathy Carter.

While the transition occurs, Chuck, Cathy and Mark will provide their know‐how and experience to assist the new team.
