Ironman Hockey
Dreamsports Center holds two annual Iron-man Hockey tournaments. One in the Winter and one in the Summer. One of these tournaments will be held with the proceeds going to a local charity.
The following are our standard Iron-man rules:
-Each team is allowed 4 skaters and 1 goalie. These players are to remain the same throughout the entire tournament. (Exception: Champions League (40+) teams)
-There is a 1 minute warmup before each game.
-All games will be 12 minutes long with a running clock throughout. All penalties will result in a penalty shot. If a penalty is called before time has expired, the penalty shot will be taken regardless of whether or not the clock runs out before the shot is completed.
-All games start with an opening face-off. This will be the only face-off of the game.
-After a goal, the scoring team will retreat to the blue line and the puck will go behind the non-scoring team’s net. Once the puck comes back in front of the goal line, the puck will be considered in play, regardless of whether all the attacking team’s players have retreated behind the blue line.
-During round robin play there is no overtime, so games that end in a tie after 12 minutes will be a tie and each team will receive 1 point in the standings. During playoffs, any games that are tied after 12 minutes will proceed directly to a 3-person shootout.
-All other rules will follow the USARS/AAU rulebook. This includes the 3-penalty rule.
-If at any point a team loses a player due to ejection or injury, that team will forfeit the game.
