Travel Programs

TRAVEL HOCKEY  (Registration opens 10/25/12)

Summary:

There are three types of Travel Hockey at Dreamsports.  Dragons Club Travel, Action Travel Lite, and there are several Independent teams and organizations in the area.  Each differs in philosophy and Goals.  The philosophy of the Dragons program is to hold tryouts to select up to the 20 best players in each age group to form 2 teams.  The Dragons typically attend up to 14 tournaments during the season with approximately one away tournament per month starting in January or February.  The A teams in each age group will typically qualify for and travel further than the B teams.  Our Action program is intended for a slightly more casual tournament experience with fewer tournaments, fewer practices, and a shorter season.  There will be a limited number of tournaments specifically geared to the Travel Lite program with the intent that Travel Lite teams compete at regular tournaments at the “B” level. Most of our Action teams also travel to at least one away tournament.  Independent teams form for a variety of reasons and are not associated with the facility.  They rent time either at Dreamsports or other facilities for practice and choose tournament based on differing goals.

Dreamsports 8U and 6U programs this year will be different.  We will hold one tryout for each age group with the intent of forming as many teams as we can.  They will all be called Dragons and fees will be different from the older age groups.  See below for more information on these important age groups.

Tournaments in 2012/2013:

Dreamsports will be host to 5 Travel tournaments this coming season from organizations such as TORHS 2Hot4Ice & NARCh.  We will be host to NARCh Winterfest and the 2Hot4Ice National Championships.  We will host the inaugural Dreamsports Travel Lite Final June 1st & 2nd where only select teams will be invited to play.  This is intended for “Travel Lite” level teams only. We will also be hosting our annual Ironman tournament on New Year’s Day and our High School and Middle School Tournaments will be held at Dreamsports upon the conclusion of their respective seasons.

Our complete tournament schedule is now posted on our website.
